Our company is actively seeking a dedicated Awning Installation Technician. In this role, you will focus on installing various types of residential and custom awnings. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve traveling to different locations to fulfill service calls. Each day will bring new challenges as you provide installation services for our range of awning products. You will have regular interactions with customers in our service areas, requiring excellent communication and customer service skills.
To excel in this position, you should be highly organized, efficient, and possess strong problem-solving abilities. Daily customer interaction demands patience and respectfulness, as you will be the face of our Hunzinger Williams Awning Installation company.
Requirements:
Responsibilities: (This list may not be exhaustive)
- Install new residential awnings and related components.
- Educate customers on maintenance and additional services.
- Assemble and adjust awning parts for optimal installation.
- Replace damaged or worn awning parts using various hand tools.
- Perform disassembly for maintenance or repair purposes.
- Remove and install various awning components.
- Install additional hardware or interior fixtures.
- Fabricate parts as needed for custom installations.
- Conduct electrical wiring for automated awning systems.
- Ensure equipment is well-lubricated and functioning properly.
- Test installations for quality assurance.
- Document installation and service activities.
- Collect payments for services rendered.
Basic Position Requirements:
Abilities:
- Proficient in mechanical and technical skills.
- Capable of handling items weighing 75 lbs or more, including lifting awning panels.
- Comfortable working on ladders for extended periods.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective customer interactions.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborative work.
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Quick and effective information relay in fast-paced settings.
- Persuasiveness in customer interactions when necessary.
- Self-motivated and reliable.
Knowledge:
- Proficient in computer and tablet usage.
- Familiarity with Google search and navigation systems is advantageous.
- Prior experience or knowledge in awning installation or related fields is beneficial, but not mandatory.
- GED, High School Diploma, or equivalent.
Training Required:
- 4 weeks of training on the job.
Working Conditions:
- Involvement in installation of awning products and services.
- Availability for overtime work with short notice.
- Fast-paced and results-oriented work environment.
- Must be able to drive a company vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.
- Must pass a Drug test, Background check, and Motor Vehicle check.
